ESTES, LCDR Albert R. (Ray) Retired Rayestes@aol.com "...I attended ARM "A" school/AROS 44. VB-2 OTU1 Beaufort SC. PV's later to NAGS Miami to Operational TBF training at NAS Fort Lauderdale. Finished on VJ Day. Later VC-11, VP-46, FASRON 3, VW-13, ALUSNA Tehran to OCS. DD703 then NAO training to VP-44 to VP-31 DET NAS Moffett Field, California to CFAWLANT to retire 1970. Awarded CAC Wings, Aircrew Wings, NAO wings and NFO wings. Wore them all once and it looked way to much. Didn't do it again. I wore CAC wings with NFO wings frequently. Was unaware of AROS insignia but wore 'Goldfish Club' insignia on right sleeve on blue jumper. That may not have been proper. Awarded for escaping death by use of liferaft after ditching off Port Everglades, FL in a TBF in the great (?)Bermuda Triangle. Lots of ASW during career including Task Force ALFA while on DD703..." INSLEY, PS1 Thomas (USCG) Retired retfiveo@gmail.com "...Joined the Navy 29 July 1959, graduated NTC Great Lakes, ill. Co. 381. My first duty station was at NAS Norfolk, Virginia with FASRON-3 as an airman apprentice. FASRON-3 was decommissioned and personnel became part of Aviation Maintenance Department NAS Norfolk, Virginia. In 1961 I was rotated to Attack Squadron 122 (VA-122) a training squadron for the AD6 Sky Raider at NAS Moffett Field, California. After training I was assigned to Attack Squadron 152 (VA-152). VA-152 who had already deployed and attached to the USS Coral Sea (CV-43) (1962 WestPac) I had fly to Yokosuka Japan in order to catch up with my new squadron. I remained with VA-152 until my discharge in March 1963 as an ADR-2 (E-5). I ended up retiring from the US Coast Guard Reserves as a PS-1 (E-6). Naval Aviation was my first love and To this day I still reminisce and miss serving in the United States Navy..." [23JUL2023]

Have been attempting to locate former crewmembers and have found, spoken with, or have visited with seven of fourteen so far. It's still an open project for me. The names open are Aspinall, Stowers, McCoy, Wright (Updated - Deceased), Reardon (Updated - Deceased), Gilmore, and Andreason. Hello! After Great Lakes I was sent to FASRON-3 at NAS Norfolk, Virginia and assigned to the Ordnance Division. AOC's Ferguson, Wride and Clum; plus AO1's MacKay and Boemig are some men I recall. I recently located Theron MacKay in California and have also been in contact with Don Vecsey, Willis Lundy, Joe Thompson and Tom Terranova from the squadron. Louis DeBord passed away in 1996. I was in FASRON-3 for one year before being sent to NATTC Memphis. VP-892 followed..."
