LOGOs: VP-17 Patch "...This one was in use from 1953 to 1989 (36 years!). The "boat" one shown at the shipmates/history selection was used from '89-'92. In 1993 VP-17 returned to the original eagle squadron logo with the addition of a red star on the sub. It was the "squadron patch" for 38 years versus the "boat" one..."
