UPDATE "...My name is Jack Mandaville. I am a proud Marine Corps and OIF veteran. I am also the grandson of AOM2 Gerald James Mandaville (USNR/Killed). Any help in finding out more of what happened that day would answer many questions my family has had since December 1944. My father was 6 months old at the time of his fathers death and it has been a unanswered question all these years about my grandfathers early death. I have heard from family members about my fathers attempt to contact the survivors of that crash in the 60's, but to no avail. Any information or suggestions on finding more details would be helpful. I thank you...Jack Mandaville jmandy83@yahoo.com..." [15MAR2007]
