VP-4549 History
Circa 1987
A BIT OF HISTORY: "...VP-4549 was at NAS Patuxent River, Maryland prior to NAF Andrews, Maryland, where they were decom'ed sometime after 1987 when I had left. I remember some of the old salts in the unit saying they had originated as a VS outfit flying S-2s, then changed to a P-3 unit...some of us got to fly, testing the avionics on the Westinghouse/Airship Industries 'Skyship 500' prototype blimp in '86/7 before that ended..."
