It was odd because I joined the Navy to get away from home and get stationed 2 hours from my hometown. Enjoyed every minute I was there, and enjoyed the times we had as "Bear" stated on Lake Michigan or a shore over seas. I thought I was never going to make it from the ranks of E-3 so I made the choice to jump to F-14's and signed up with VF-201 at NAS Dallas, Texas in 91 and quickly made E-5. Jumped up to QAR and unfortunately saw a fellow Shipmates loose his life in a training exercise that really messed me up. The VF and VP communities are so different it was really shocking, but was just as fun (Even though we didn't go over seas). Again I made a lot of new friends and have great memories. I learned a lot while I was in the TAR community, and am very grateful for that. I currently reside in Indianapolis and work for Consumer Electronics Manufacture. I went to school after I left the service and received an Associates Degree and 2 Bachelors degrees in Electronics. I am married to a wonderful female and have two great children (boy and girl). UNGER, Raoul Felix regnu@attbi.com "...Began my Naval career in NAS Olathe, Kansas as a Weekend Warrior. Became an SP2E/H Flight Crew Plane Captain in 1965. I was with what eventually became VP-67 when it moved to NAS Memphis, Tennessee in 1969/1970. I even still have my old VP-67 nametag. I left the squadron around 1970/1971 to go to Costa Rica, C.A. with my Dad. I returned to Florida in 1975, heard about the program at VP-62 and re-afiliated with the Reserves in 1976. I went to VP-30 for FE school and qualified in October 1977. That is when I recalled as a TAR and began my active duty career. I was stationed at VP-62 until 1981, when I transferred to VP-60 in NAS Glenview, Illinois. In 1985 I "moved down the hall" from Cobra country to Lion country and VP-90. In 1992 I returned to Snake country to become a Cobra once again. In 1993 I returned to the Broadarrows of VP-62. Where I was until my health grounded me. I am now stationed at HS-75 and plan to retire in 2000. I also have my own financial services, business funding and mortgage purchasing company. I would enjoy hearing from old friends, esp anyone who knows Kenny Bell...Transferred to the Fleet Reserve Retired List 1 February 2001. Still reside in Jacksonville, FL..." WALSH, AT1 (NAC) Mike mike.j.walsh@lmco.com "...Checked aboard September 1986, started out of W/C 210 with good old Lew Brown, Dunlap, Parker, Fuchs, my cousin Les Dixon, and Muscle Head Moyers. Went upstairs to Ops/Trn in 1988 and had to deal with Chief Wagner, Clougher, Shoemaker, Mountain, Dawson, a couple other Chiefs, and my favorite, Cindy Houston. VP-60 will always be tops for Commands, because Becky was born in Chicago, and you all came to our help when Libby was sick in 1990. CDR Parker (OinC) and the troops were truly a class act. Attached to CAC 1, but flew with everyone else. Transferred June 1991 to RATCEN and retired June 1997. Thanks to all the Cobra's (well maybe not all), for a very memorable tour. Drop me a line..."
