Bankston edward.bankston@verizon.net "...My Father, Edward Bankston, an enlisted pilot (NAP) served aboard the USS Yorktown with VT-5 during the Battle of the Coral Sea. VT-5 was replaced by another torpedo squadron before the Battle of Midway due to the beating VT-5 took at the Coral Sea. Dad still has his logbooks showing the flights flown in TBDs from the USS Yorktown during the Battle of the Coral Sea. Dad retired after 27 years and now lives in Chesapeake, Virginia. He attends the Silver Eagles Association when able..." [23OCT2002]
