HistoryA BIT OF HISTORY: "... NAS Atsugi, Japan was commissioned, December 1, 1950 on a wet and gusty afternoon. Three officers and fifty enlisted men were on hand to hear Captain R.C. Sutliff, USN, read his orders as the new Commanding Officer. In January 1951, VP-6 came as the first squadron operating from the station.
