LOGOs: VP-28 Logo "...Circa 1964 until decommissioning on Oct 1, 1969. Designed by AX3 Barry Bohnet of the AIO shop in 1964 (as per Rolando Gorena, squadron AIO '64 -'66, gorena@mail3.wilmington.net). This patch was distinctive for it's Hawaiian theme, which was absent from other Hawaiian squadrons at the time (VP-22, VP-6 and VP-4). "...We deployed to NAS Iwakuni, Japan in November 1962. CDR L. A. Kurz was CO and CDR R. T. Folsom XO. I was an AT1 and part of the Crews Book staff. I recall redrawing the Squadron Logos (the one Axing the sub and the one just below and to the right of it). I drew up Crew patches as well and the guys had them stitched..." Contributed by Jack D.
